Front & Center at PPS 2025: RTM, Digital Physical Therapy and Patient Engagement

The APTA PPS conference made it clear that Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) is now central to how PT clinics plan to modernize care. Clinicians are seeking simple, efficient digital physical therapy tools that improve visibility between visits without adding extra work. EverEx stood out by offering streamlined RTM workflows, clear monitoring dashboards, and built-in support for the 2026 RTM CPT code changes, giving practices confidence as they scale digital care programs.

The heavily anticipated APTA conference,  Private Practice Section (PPS) offered a clear view into how physical therapy is evolving, and Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) is at the center of that shift.

Throughout our time in Orlando, one message came through consistently: Physical Therapists (PT) want digital tools that enhance patient engagement between visits without adding operational burden. This focus shaped nearly every conversation at the EverEx booth and reinforced why RTM is becoming essential for clinics committed to modernizing care.

Why RTM Is Becoming Critical for PT Practices

Across dozens of discussions, clinicians highlighted the same challenge. Outcomes depend heavily on what patients do at home, yet therapists rarely have clarity between sessions. RTM fills this gap by giving PTs visibility into patient activity, progress, and adherence, but only when the technology is simple and efficient. Many attendees shared experiences with platforms that over-complicate documentation or require manual tracking, which makes RTM feel like extra work instead of meaningful support. This frustration reinforced the demand for solutions that streamline workflows rather than expand them.

EverEx stood out because it simplifies the entire process. Clinicians quickly understood that they could monitor patients, communicate effectively, and meet CPT code requirements without disrupting their daily schedules. The desire for clarity, automation, and a smoother digital physical therapy workflow was one of the strongest themes we heard throughout PPS.

Preparing for the 2026 RTM Code Changes

The 2026 RTM CPT code changes were another major theme. Practice owners are looking ahead and want to feel confident that their technology supports shorter monitoring periods, smaller increments of treatment management, and more flexible reporting. Many were relieved to learn that EverEx already includes built-in support for these upcoming requirements. This forward-looking approach gives clinics the confidence they need to scale RTM programs before the new rules take effect.

The shift in the CPT landscape is driving renewed attention toward RTM in 2026. Clinics recognize that preparing early will make it easier to build sustainable digital physical therapy programs and capture consistent reimbursement as the new codes roll out.

What Clinicians Valued Most About EverEx at PPS

Throughout PPS, PTs connected strongly with the balance of simplicity and clinical value that EverEx provides. Providers appreciated using a platform designed specifically for musculoskeletal and physical therapy workflows rather than a generic digital health tool adapted for RTM. They responded to the ease of onboarding patients, the clarity of the monitoring dashboard, and the way engagement trends were displayed in a direct and meaningful way. Many shared that EverEx was the first RTM platform that felt like it could save them time instead of creating additional work.

Clinicians also emphasized the importance of using digital physical therapy tools that support the therapist’s role, productivity and day to day. EverEx focuses on delivering visibility, communication, and patient adherence without removing clinical judgment. RTM is most effective when it strengthens the therapeutic relationship and provides therapists with more insight between visits, and that approach resonated throughout our time at PPS.

Post PPS -  What Comes Next

PPS made it clear that physical therapy practices are ready for digital solutions that genuinely support their workflow. They want predictable reimbursement, stronger patient adherence, and technology that helps them scale without increasing administrative load. The conversations we had with practice owners, directors, and clinicians validated that the future of digital physical therapy relies on solutions that deliver real value while staying intuitive and accessible.

For EverEx, PPS was an opportunity to continue shaping what high-quality RTM looks like for  clinics of all sizes. We are grateful to everyone who visited our booth, asked thoughtful questions, and shared feedback about their experiences with RTM. Your insights help us refine our platform and strengthen the support we offer to clinics across the country.
